Whether or not you want to compete, every dog owner should consider some form of obedience training. It’s the best way to establish good communication skills between you and your dog – and to make sure that your dog is the most well-behaved one in your neighborhood!
Obedience Class
Wednesday Evenings  5:30 - 6:15 PM
    Our next class will be starting on May 1.
This will be our last class until September.

  • $95 for 7 sessions, First session is an Orientation class held without your dog

  • Open to all dogs, although we prefer your dog be at least 4 months old.

  • Work with your dog through a series of exercises found in competition obedience and therapy dog evaluation. This will include heeling, sit, down, stay, stand for exam, and recall.

  • Includes AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluation for dogs under 1 year of age.

Instructors: Betty Peterson & Jo Miller

Betty and Jo have been pillars of the MAKC training team for over 20 years. Betty is also a Wood County 4H advisor and trainer for dog competition. Betty is a certified Canine Good Citizen, S.T.A.R Puppy, and Therapy Dog evaluator.

Jo has titled multiple dogs in obedience and also participates in agility, rally, and scent work.
