MAKC is an American Kennel Club licensed all-breed dog club dedicated to the advancement of purebred dogs and the education of all dog and handler teams through our shows, matches, trials and classes.

About MAKC

Organized in 1987 to promote the welfare of purebred dogs, MAKC hosted its first licensed All-Breed Dog Shows and Obedience Trials in 1996 and continues to host a two-day AKC All-Breed Dog Shows & Obedience Trials in July. MAKC has since added two  AKC All-Breed agility trials held in March and June, along with a two-day AKC All-Breed Obedience and Rally trial in September.

More than just a show giving organization, we strive to provide service and education to our members and the general public by offering seminars and educational training classes in agility, conformation, manners, obedience, rally and scent work.

Members are rewarded each year for their achievements and sportsmanlike conduct at our annual meeting.

Community Support

MAKC members are dedicated to the health and welfare of canines and are proud to make the following donations each year.

  • A particular source of pride, MAKC created an endowment scholarship fund through the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. The $1,000 scholarship is available to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students of the UW School of Veterinary Medicine from North Central Wisconsin counties surrounding the Marshfield area.

  • Wood County 4-H Dog Project, to encourage youth

  • AKC Canine Health Foundation
